Saxophones

I’ve been a music lover for as long as I could dance to a beat! I learned to play bass so I could replicate the beat in my favorite songs, and this new skill led me to encounter many different types of guitar tuning apps. Although they all had the same microphone-centric feature in common, I wasn’t able to find a platform that showed me how each note was played. I decided to design a software that could show how a musical instrument produces notes, similar to a virtual keyboard on music production apps.

These GIFs were made from recordings of my Adobe XD project.

FINGER MODE

Users can learn how pressing the various keys on the instrument’s body help to modify the notes that the saxophone produces. An enlarged diagram next to an image of the instrument makes clickability easier.

COMPOSE MODE

Hovering over notes on the staff provided will demonstrate how these respective notes are produced using the keys on the saxophone’s body.
